چکیده

We have measured the thermal conductivity along the c-axis, κ∥c, parallel to ferromagnetic spin-chains of single crystals of the S = 1/2 quasi-one-dimensional spin system CsCuCl3 in magnetic fields up to 14 T, in order to investigate the thermal conductivity due to spins, κspin, and the change of thermal conductivity corresponding to the change of the spin state. In the temperature dependence of κ∥c, no contribution of κspin has been observed, while a dip has been observed at the antiferromagnetic phase transition temperature, TN. Furthermore, it has been found that κ∥c at a low temperature of 5.1 K below TN changes with increasing field perpendicular to the c-axis in good correspondence to the field-induced change of the spin state.

Transport in quasi one-dimensional spin-1/2 systems

We present numerical results for the spin and thermal conductivity of one-dimensional (1D) quantum spin systems. We contrast the properties of integrable models such as the spin-1/2 XXZ chain against nonintegrable ones such as frustrated and dimerized chains. The thermal conductivity of the XXZ chain is ballistic at finite temperatures, while in the nonintegrable models, this quantity is argued...

Model for CsCuCl3 in an External Magnetic Field

CsCuCl3 is a ferromagnetically stacked triangular spin-1/2 antiferromagnet. We discuss models for its zero-temperature magnetization process. The models range from three antiferromagnetically coupled ferromagnetic chains to the full three-dimensional situation. The situation with spin-1/2 is treated by expansions around the Ising limit and exact diagonalization. Further, weak-coupling perturbat...

Non-dissipative thermal transport in the massive regimes of the XXZ chain

We present exact results on the thermal conductivity of the one-dimensional spin-1/2 XXZ model in the massive antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic regimes. The thermal Drude weight is calculated by a lattice path integral formulation. Numerical results for wide ranges of temperature and anisotropy as well as analytical results in the low and high temperature limits are presented. At finite tempe...

0 Weak ferromagnetism of quasi - one - dimensional S = 1 / 2 antiferromagnet BaCu

Weak ferromagnetism of quasi-one-dimensional S = 1/2 antiferromagnet BaCu 2 Ge 2 O 7 is studied by the magnetization measurement. The spontaneous magnetization appears along the b axis below 8.8 K. The local symmetry between the intra-chain nearest neighbor spins allows the presence of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, and the only possible spatial configuration of the weak ferromagnetic momen...

Negative differential conductivity in far-from-equilibrium quantum spin chains

We show that, when a finite anisotropic Heisenberg spin-1/2 chain in the gapped regime is driven far from equilibrium, oppositely polarized ferromagnetic domains build up at the edges of the chain, thus suppressing quantum spin transport. As a consequence, a negative differential conductivity regime arises, where increasing the driving decreases the current. The above results are explained in t...
